  • About the Album

In the 1980s, I was in my twenties and had been experimenting with sound engineering and production since my teens. I decided to start writing my own songs and formed a band called The Electric Slugs. The band was an experimental garage band pushing the limits of home studio recording. By the end of the '80s, I had produced seven different projects. After facing massive rejection from record labels, I decided to start my own record label, naming it after what Electric Slugs leave behind -- Glistening Trails.

In September 1992, I created what I believe to be the first 'home digital recording studio.' The other band members nicknamed me 'Digital Yoda.' At first, I took offense to the name, but eventually embraced it as I realized I had pioneered digital home recording.

In 1994, I achieved my dream of bypassing the record industry's criminal distribution syndicate with the first worldwide digital releases via the internet. The Electric Slugs' first album, Join the Slugfest, was one of these albums. Thirty years later, the next generation of Slugs continued the tradition of home digital recordings by combining humans and AI to create Brave Knew World -- a concept album of experimental music exploring the fusion of man and machine. In the same vein as Join the Slugfest, this album invents new sound engineering, recording, and music production methods.

So come join the slugfest in a brave new world!

    Sincerely,
    Digital Yoda
